Bone Density
Hi Rita,
I had a bone density scan and I now have normal bone density. In 2007 I was diagnosed with osteopenia shortly after I found out I had celiac. With the gluten free diet, Shaklee vitamins and exercise I have been able to improve my bone density.  When I was diagnosed with osteopenia I was told that the best I could hope for was to maintain the bone density.  I am so happy about these results!

These are age matched scores, I am 46
and menopausal.
12/14/2007 Results:
Test Site/Scan Region AM Z-score

A Parkinson’s Update

A quick update on my husband, Chuck, who has Parkinson’s.  He celebrated his 81st birthday last fall, still bowling (just not as good, but when he has a 'good' night it sure makes him smile!), still taking only one prescription med (fairly low dose Sinemet for Parkinson’s).  He has no real issues with Parkinson’s, his cholesterol or his heart.  He puts Vivix in his strawberry Cinch Protein shake every morning and takes lots of Shaklee food supplements morning and evening. He’s no longer biking and dancing, and has slowed down some--‐but I'll tell ya, for an 81 year old man diagnosed with PD 8 years ago, he's doing darn good! And his 'lights are still on'! He lost that mask face symptom after starting Vivix in 2008, when this product was first introduced.

A Nutriferon Testimonial

Last week for the first time in at least a decade, I got sick with a nasty cold and congestive flu. I was shocked!  And this was so awful it put me in bed!  I think I caught it at my grandson's state basketball tournament.  He was sick and playing with a 101 degree temperature!  I thought I'd let you know what I did to get over it and maybe this will help others, too.

When Nutriferon came out several years ago, I took it to keep my immune system strong while teaching.  That happened, but I was surprised when taking it also eliminated the seasonal allergies and sinus problems I'd suffered from for many years.  Since then I've faithfully taken two a day and have never had any more problems with either of those conditions.  Plus, I haven't had any colds, and that's been a blessing, but I did catch one last week.  So, as I was in bed, miserable and emptying a kleenex box, I thought that if a person can take two Tylenol every four hours when sick, then I could surely take two Nutriferon every four hours.  That's what I did and by the next morning all of the symptoms were totally gone!  I was really amazed and so happy that I could get up and get going again!

I was sharing this with you this morning, and you both told similar stories of how Nutriferon has helped you and others you know with different health conditions. I think the immune system, just like any part of the body, benefits from being fed what it needs, and when it's overtaxed, it just needs more help.  Sometimes, for me,  it's been a matter of experimenting a bit to discover which Shaklee products and what amounts of those products are needed.

I hope this is encouraging to anyone who reads it - that the power to give the body what it needs to sustain and build health is within our Shaklee grasp.

THOSE LAST 10 POUNDS … H E L P !

I can't tell you how long I've wanted to lose "just" 10 lbs.  So last July, I decided this time I was going to do it.  I increased my workouts and hoped for the best.  Well after a frustrating month with no results, I added CINCH twice daily.  By the next month, I was seeing results, and by Thanksgiving I had lost 15 lbs!  Best part....CINCH is helping me maintain my new weight!

Powerful Business for Women

According to Robert Kiyosaki, Business for the 21st century, “Network Marketing is a powerful business for women.  This may be due in part because it is uniquely compatible with the demands of a family.”
Mr. Kiyosaki also says that the U.S. statistics about women are startling.  Here are two he stated: “47% of women over age 50 are single, and are financially responsible for themselves.  Women’s retirement income is less than that of men because as the primary caretaker for the home, a woman is away from the work force an average of 14.7 years, as compared to 1.6 years for men.  Add this fact to the lower salaries women still receive, and you have retirement benefits that are only about one--‐quarter those of men. (National Center for Women And RetirementResearch)
I am happy to have Shaklee as mine and my husband's safety net.  Because Network Marketing issuch a powerful business for women it is important to align yourself with a company with a proven strong and stable track record to invest your >me and future into.  As America’s number one natural nutrition company, Shaklee has paid more than $5 billion in commissions all the while helping people like yours and mine live healthier, richer and happier lives.  I Love partnering with Shaklee for these very reasons plus instead of making cuts in this economy, they are adding to the benefits package.  AND I get to work from home in several expanding markets!

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
In Remission!

I was diagnosed at age 16 with eczema, and at age 20 with lactose in-tolerance, spastic colon, irritable bowel syndrome, anemia, menstrual problems.  After having 3 children, I started adding to my list of health issues including cervical dysplasia, fibroid tumors, chronic sinus infections, neck problems, 2 lower herniated discs – causing foot problems, nerve damage, torn rotator cuff, heart symptoms, rosacea, acid reflux and high blood pressure.
My life was a full fast paced one but the side effects from medications slowed me down, masked the symptoms, and depleted me of vitamins and minerals.  In 2003, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and later Celiac disease.
With the guidance of my Shaklee distributor and a Nutritional Consultant, I chose to make dietary changes and committed to a Shaklee nutritional program.  Within 4 months, I was off all my meds including my high blood pressure medicine and all the pain medications, even NSAID’S.  Instead I used the Shaklee Pain Relief and Joint Health Complex to manage pain.
I have had no back surgery, no hysterectomy, my heart is healthy, my allergies are under control and my Rheumatoid Arthritis has been in remission for 6 years!
I feel better than I did 25 years ago. For the past 5 years, I have only visited my Doctor for the annual wellness check up. I thank God for Shaklee and the people He used to guide me in restoring my health.  Because of my health improvement, it is my mission to help others prevent and overcome disease which has led me to have my own Shaklee business (something I never dreamed I would do) and teach others to build businesses too. I love sharing the gift of Shaklee.

Ginger Cookies ...unique, delicious, healthy!

Ingredients
• 2 cups whole wheat pastry flour or spelt flour
• 1. Tbsp. ground ginger
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• . tsp. fine sea salt
• 8 Tbsp. (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into small
cubes
• ⅔ cup granulated sugar
• . cup unsulphured molasses
• 2 Tbsp. finely grated fresh ginger
• 1 egg
• 1 cup dried
apricots,
finely
chopped
• . cup
bittersweet
chocolate,
preferably 70
percent cacao, finely chopped
• 1 cup raw or turbinado sugar
• Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, ground ginger, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Makes 8 dozen small (or 4 dozen large) cookies
Heat butter in a small pot over medium--‐low heat until just melted, about 2 minutes.  Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, molasses, and fresh ginger.  Set aside until mixture is just warm and then whisk in egg.  Add butter--‐molasses mixture and apricots to reserved flour mixture, stir until just barely combined, and then fold in chocolate.  Cover and chill until firm, about 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350°.  Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.  Place raw sugar in a small bowl.  To form each cookie, shape ½ Tbsp. dough into a ball, and then roll in raw sugar to coat.  Transfer to prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies about 2 apart.  Bake until just cracked on top, 8 to 10 minutes.  (To make larger cookies, use 1 Tbsp. dough for each ball and bake 10 to 12 minutes.)  Set aside to cool, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Bake it better!
Roll these cookies in raw sugar (often called turbinado) for a sparkly, crunchy finish, or in powdered sugar for a softly sweet bite.

Alzheimer’s Symptoms Greatly Reduced

A woman shared with Debbie Garrison an amazing story about her mom who had been diagnosed with Alzhiemer’s  5 years previous.  She and her sisters were taking care of her at home, and hated the results of the drugs, so they discontinued them.  Their Mom had not dressed herself in two years, had to be fed all her meals and recognized very few family members.  She had little or no interest in anyone or anything and rarely spoke.  Then the girls started their mother on Shaklee Vivix.  One day during the second month of taking Vivix, their Mom began to talk, and one of the first things she said was “I want to go to the kitchen and fix myself a peanut butter sandwich.”  This, from a lady who had not fixed a meal in years!  After 3 months on Vivix, their Mom was recognizing most of her guests, was feeding herself, and enjoying her company.

Vivix contains 15 polyphenols and over 60,000 antioxidants, with RESVERATROL being one of the primary ingredients.  Dr. David Sinclair’s research proved that this substance repairs and protects DNA at the cellular level.  That is the only possible explanation for this wonderful health testimony.

Shaklee Cholestrol Reduction Complex testimony.. By Barbara Tucker

Don and I have always averaged a total cholestrol reading of around 300 for as long as doctors were testing for cholestrol. We felt that as long as the ratio was good, we didn't need meds.

When i was 40 years of age, my DR. said if I didn't  get my cholestrol down, that in 10 years I would be in deep trouble! I am 75 years of age now and within this past year i have been tested for artery blockage.

Both in my heart and in my carotid arteries, and it has been found that all is good . no blockages and a minimal of build-up.

One of the reasons for not taking statin drugs (besides all the bad effects i read about) was the cost."WITH" our ins., it would cost $135 for each of us. Our budget on soc sec could not sustain $270 monthly.

But both Don and I started to get concerned because the ratio's were changing.

We changed ins. and are now allowed genaric meds free of charge.
our DR was pressuring us, so we said yes, we'd try it. He gave us each a perscription which we filled. I put mine in the drawer and Don took his  perscription faithfully every morning.

I have always had Shaklee's "Cholestol Reduction Complex" on the shelf.
the problem i as having was, it said, "take 30 mins. before your meal.
I could never get the timing right so gave up taking it most of the time.
but this time i decided to take it regardless of the timing.. for lunch and dinner.

Our last blood test was taken in May of  2011,  and again recently in January 4th 2012.

in May 2011
don's total was 281   .................mine was 289
 in Jan 2012
don's total was241  .................mine was 228  (don's dropped  41 pts  and mine dropped  61 pts.
both of our HDL'S had dropped 11 pts. but still in a good range
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Don's  LDL's were  182pts.........   and down to 150 in Jan ...  a drop of 32 pts..
mine..................197pts in May and 156 pts in Jan............a drop of  41 pts.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
triglycerides..............
in all fairness i must say that i started a diet excluding grains and sugars and lost 20 lbs.

My triglycerides  went from 210 down to 144 and my diabetes is under control.
i have never taken meds for it and don't plan to.......ever!

shhhh! Don wouldn't want me to say this but he has been in denial for a long time........
I asked the DR. quitely if he'd include the sugar test.  He winked at me and made a note of it.

The test showed that he  is edging toward diabetes...........
his triglycerides  went from 181 to 196 so now he listens to me and has cut way back on his refined carbs. and that is all i wanted. there is no need to have diabetes type 2  with a healthy diet.

Since our results, we are both faithful in taking "Shaklee's Cholestrol Reduction Complex" I put it at our plates and we take it before we eat twice a day. we don't worry about the 30 min. wait.

I carry plenty of it in my purse for those occasions when we decide, on the spur of the moment to have a bit out. We're looking fwd to an even better test next time.

A Florida Court Sets Atheist Holy Day!

A Florida Court Sets Atheist Holy Day!
Gotta love this Judge!

You must read this......
A proper decision by the courts...
for a change.

A FLORIDA COURT SETS
ATHEIST HOLY DAY

In Florida , an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, "Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood and objecting to the ruling saying,
"Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others.
The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays..."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counselor, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said," Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."
The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore,
April 1st is his day.

Court is adjourned..."
You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

This is too good not to forward!

Message about Nutrition from Dr. Steve Chaney

Here's an fantastic message from Dr. Steve Chaney. Very well worth reading ..

The two biggest misconceptions that people have about supplementation;

#1: Supplementation can cure disease.

I don't know how many times I've been asked "I have
"disease X". What supplements should I take? - as if
supplements were drugs that can be taken to cure a
disease.

We shouldn't think of supplements as drugs that cure
diseases. We should think of them as providing the
nutrients that are the building blocks of health - or
perhaps the ammunition that the body uses to fight
diseases.

Diseases, after all, are an abnormal state of being,
and our bodies have an amazing capacity to fight those
diseases.

When we have infections or cancer our body activates
its immune system to fight it.

When we have inflammation our body tries to put out the
fire.

When we have damage to our DNA - our genetic
information - our body tries to repair it. The list is
almost endless. Our bodies are wondrously designed!

Our immune systems require nutrients like protein, B
vitamins, antioxidants, zinc and iron.

The omega-3 fatty acids, anti-oxidants and polyphenols
like resveratrol are anti-inflammatory.

Nutrients like antioxidants and polyphenols support DNA
repair.

So proper diet and supplementation are not "magic
bullets" that cure diseases. They are simply the
building blocks that allow the body to do what it does
best. And because no two of us are alike the nutrients
that we need the most to allow our bodies to do their
job efficiently may be different for each one of us.

So while there is no magic food or supplement that will
cure a specific disease, a healthy diet and a holistic
approach to supplementation can often work wonders.

#2) It doesn't matter what you eat.

This is the flip side of the coin. I often come across
people who have been told by the "experts" that the
cause of their disease was not related to diet so they
shouldn't worry about what they eat and supplementation
will not do any good.

Let's take the most extreme example - genetically
caused diseases or serious degenerative diseases like
multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's for which the causes
are still not fully understood.

It is generally true that these diseases were not
caused by poor diet (MS may be the exception because
there is some evidence that it can be caused by
inadequate vitamin D during childhood). And I know many
people who take the "expert's" advice to heart and eat
whatever they like and consider supplementation a waste
of money.

Is that a sound approach? Let's consider.

Any nutritionist will tell you that an inadequate diet
can lead to malaise, low energy, inflammation, weakened
immune system and impaired wound healing - just to name
a few maladies. Even if you don't end up with the
symptoms of a nutritional deficiency a poor diet can
rob you of energy and vitality.

If you layer the consequences of a poor diet on top of
the underlying disease, your chances of being able to
cope with the disease and function optimally are
greatly diminished.

I have come across many people with very serious
diseases who are able to function at a very high level
through proper diet and a holistic approach to
supplementation.

Diet and supplementation did not cure their disease as
they quickly discover if they stop supplementing and go
back to the way they used to eat, but in many cases you
would consider them to be perfectly healthy as long as
they keep doing what they have been doing.

So what is the bottom line for you?

1) There is no perfect food or supplement that is
capable of curing disease, but if you give your body
the nutrients that it needs it often has the ability to
cure itself.

2) Proper diet and supplementation can make a
difference even if the disease was not caused by poor
nutrition.

3) Each of us have unique nutritional needs so in both
cases a holistic approach to diet and supplementation
is best.
