Cream of Wheat, Rice
For anyone who likes Cream of Wheat but is unsure of how healthy it is
here’s an option. All you need is a
grinder that can grind down to something about as fine as cream of wheat. With that you can grind brown rice, your own
wheat and even black beans to about the same consistency of the cream of wheat
that comes in the box. It is then
available to use. In this form rice and
black beans will cook in about 5 minutes instead of 45 minutes or longer. It cooks to something like the cereal.
1 part ground wheat or which ever you are using to 3-4 parts water
depending on the desired thickness.
Bring the water to a boil
Add the ground stuff and appropriate seasonings
Then stir frequently for about 2 minutes
It’s ready.
A half a cup of ground stuff makes about 2 servings.

Possible Cure for Leukemia Found in Fish Oil
by Press Release : Dec 29, 2011 : Pennsylvania State University
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/12/111222103112.htm
"We have shown that some metabolites of Omega-3 have the ability to selectively kill the leukemia-causing stem cells in mice. The important thing is that the mice were completely cured of leukemia with no relapse." -Sandeep Prabhu
NOTE FROM FOUNDING EDITOR: I'm sorry for those of you whom this discovery may be coming too late. Though it may take some time before the patent is approved, if it is granted, its value will be beyond comprehension, both in what it will accomplish and its monetary worth. -Steve Shultz
(Pennsylvania) - A compound produced from fish oil that appears to target leukemia stem cells could lead to a cure for the disease, according to Penn State researchers.
The compound - delta-12-protaglandin J3, or D12-PGJ3 - targeted and killed the stem cells of chronic myelogenous leukemia, or CML, in mice, said Sandeep Prabhu, associate professor of immunology and molecular toxicology in the Department of Veterinary and Medical Sciences. The compound is produced from EPA - Eicosapentaenoic Acid - an Omega-3 fatty acid found in fish and in fish oil, he said. (Photo: The compound shown above is D12-PGJ2, which closely resembles delta-12-protaglandin J3, or D12-PGJ3, a compound that targeted and killed the stem cells of chronic myelogenous leukemia or CML in mice. "Research in the past on fatty acids has shown the health benefits of fatty acids on cardiovascular system and brain development, particularly in infants, but we have shown that some metabolites of Omega-3 have the ability to selectively kill the leukemia-causing stem cells in mice," said Prabhu. "The important thing is that the mice were completely cured of leukemia with no relapse."
The researchers, who released their findings in the current issue of Blood, said the compound kills cancer-causing stem cells in the mice's spleen and bone marrow. Specifically, it activates a gene - p53 - in the leukemia stem cell that programs the cell's own death.
"p53 is a tumor suppressor gene that regulates the response to DNA damage and maintains genomic stability," Prabhu said.
Killing the stem cells in leukemia, a cancer of the white blood cells, is important because stem cells can divide and produce more cancer cells, as well as create more stem cells, Prabhu said.
The current therapy for CML extends the patient's life by keeping the number of leukemia cells low, but the drugs fail to completely cure the disease because they do not target leukemia stem cells, said Robert Paulson, associate professor of veterinary and biomedical sciences, who co-directed this research with Prabhu.
"The patients must take the drugs continuously," said Paulson. "If they stop, the disease relapses because the leukemia stem cells are resistant to the drugs."
Current treatments are unable to kill the leukemia stem cells, Paulson said.
"These stem cells can hide from the treatment, and a small population of stem cells give rise to more leukemia cells," said Paulson. "So, targeting the stem cells is essential if you want to cure leukemia."
During the experiments, the researchers injected each mouse with about 600 nanograms of D12-PGJ3 each day for a week. Tests showed that the mice were completely cured of the disease. The blood count was normal, and the spleen returned to normal size. The disease did not relapse.
In previous experiments, the compound also killed the stem cells of Friend Virus-induced leukemia, an experimental model for human leukemia.
The researchers focused on D12-PGJ3 because it killed the leukemia stem cells, but had the least number of side effects. The researchers currently are working to determine whether the compound can be used to treat the terminal stage of CML, referred to as Blast Crisis. There are currently no drugs available that can treat the disease when it progresses to this stage.
The researchers, who applied for a patent, are also preparing to test the compound in human trials.

A Testimonial about Lyme disease
The ticks that transmit Lyme Disease are spreading to more and more places. This increases the chances of getting it. If you or someone you know is unfortunate enough to get Lyme disease, please read the following story.
During the past several years, after realizing that a debilitating arthritic ankle was due to Lyme disease, I changed strategies from focusing on controlling inflammation to fighting an infection and started to see immediate improvement. Without using "conventional" antibiotic protocols for advanced Lyme, I increased my Nutriferon to 4 per day, added d-Lenolate Olive Leaf extract, colloidal silver, Quantum biofeedback therapy and of course too many Shaklee supplements to mention.
At my worst, I needed a brace and could barely climb stairs. The pain wasn't responding to any over the counter NSAIDS or Pain Relief. Over the course of a year I had improved dramatically, but still had some evening pain after a full day on my feet, and still needed to be very careful on the stairs.
I added VIVIX to my routine sporadically, and started to notice the lessening of pain. However, in January I started to take Vivix every day faithfully. Sometime in mid-January I had the urge to start “Spring” housecleaning and rearranging! I was sleeping much better and waking at 5:30 all set to begin my day! Lately, I've been able to come down the stairs in the morning carrying things in both hands without rails or leaning on the wall. I notice I am bordering on obnoxiously PERKY, compared to folks around me. I was even dancing vigorously with my 5 year old grandson last Saturday night after a big day at the shop. How FUN and pain free is that! I am so excited about VIVIX, I've been sharing my delight on a daily basis with friends and customers from my women’s retail store. Thank you Shaklee!
Lynne Arnold
PS: My last biofeedback treatment was clear for all Lyme factors and my "cell vitality" was 10/10! My Quantum biofeedback therapist had never seen this before and ordered Vivix yesterday for herself and her dearest friend!
My personal suggestion for anyone who is just getting started with Shaklee supplements is to start off with one of the following.
and
or
There's lots of other supplements available to add if you wish. Check out the Product Guide for more information.
BTW: I have killed ants, crickets and spiders with Shaklee Basic H, which is non-toxic. It kills these bugs by drowning them instead of poisoning them. It would most likely kill ticks.

Happy Friday and Happy Earthday Weekend Everyone!!
The earth has been our home for centuries. Many of us believe it was created by God. Even though we haven’t always treated the
earth with the respect it deserves, it has still done a good job of sustaining
us for centuries. Celebrating the earth is
a good thing to do anytime –including Earthday.
Earthday is only one day each year but that doesn’t mean you can do
nice things for the earth once a year.
It could be a good day to make some lasting changes that will lessen
your footprint on the earth. Maybe you
could make a vow to use public transit more if you’re in an area where it’s
offered. You could walk more and drive
less. Maybe now would even be a good
time to go buy a bike and use that for some of your errands, or even just to
get out. Maybe you could replace your
toxic cleaners with non-toxic cleaners.
Cleaners don’t have to be toxic to be effective. Imagine all the toxins that will no longer be
sent down your drain, or down to the water table. All these are changes that will help reduce
our footprints on the planet. How about
working at home and telecommuting instead of commuting to a workplace. That would also reduce our footprint. There are many jobs or work situations that
will allow for that. If you are in one
of those, talk to your employer about it, maybe start with one or two days per
week and then add to them. Maybe you
will ultimately end up working from home most of the time if not all the
time. Imagine that.
I have a business where people that can be run from their home and it
also offers a way to eliminate many toxins in your home too. I can show you a way to improve the health of
your family, reduce your footprint on the earth, and allow you to work at home –
eliminating the daily commute. Those of you,
who truly want to make a bigger impact get in, touch with me.

Bone
Density
Hi Rita,
I had a bone
density scan and I now have normal bone density. In 2007 I was diagnosed with osteopenia
shortly after I found out I had celiac. With the gluten free diet, Shaklee vitamins and exercise I have been able to improve
my bone density. When I was diagnosed
with osteopenia I was told that the best I could hope for was to maintain the
bone density. I am so happy about these
results!
These are
age matched scores, I am 46
and
menopausal.

Parkinson’s Update
A quick update on my husband, Chuck, who has Parkinson’s. He celebrated his 81st birthday last
fall, still bowling (just not as good, but when he has a 'good' night it sure makes
him smile!), still taking only one prescription med (fairly low dose Sinemet for
Parkinson’s). He has no real issues with
Parkinson’s, his cholesterol or his heart.
He puts Vivix in his strawberry Cinch Protein shake every morning and takes lots
of Shaklee food supplements morning and evening. He’s no longer biking and dancing,
and has slowed down some--‐but I'll tell ya, for an 81 year old man diagnosed with
PD 8 years ago, he's doing darn good! And his 'lights are still on'! He lost
that mask face symptom after starting Vivix in 2008, when this product was first introduced.

Nutriferon Testimonial
Last week for the first time in at least a decade, I got sick with
a nasty cold and congestive flu. I was shocked!
And this was so awful it put me in bed!
I think I caught it at my grandson's state basketball tournament. He was sick and playing with a 101 degree
temperature! I thought I'd let you know
what I did to get over it and maybe this will help others, too.
When Nutriferon
came out several years ago, I took it to keep my immune system strong while
teaching. That happened, but I was
surprised when taking it also eliminated the seasonal allergies and sinus
problems I'd suffered from for many years.
Since then I've faithfully taken two a day and have never had any more
problems with either of those conditions.
Plus, I haven't had any colds, and that's been a blessing, but I did
catch one last week. So, as I was in
bed, miserable and emptying a kleenex box, I thought that if a person can take
two Tylenol every four hours when sick, then I could surely take two Nutriferon
every four hours. That's what I did and
by the next morning all of the symptoms were totally gone! I was really amazed and so happy that I could
get up and get going again!
I was sharing this with you this morning, and you both told
similar stories of how Nutriferon
has helped you and others you know with different health conditions. I think
the immune system, just like any part of the body, benefits from being fed what
it needs, and when it's overtaxed, it just needs more help. Sometimes, for me, it's been a matter of experimenting a bit to
discover which Shaklee
products and what amounts of those products are needed.
I hope this is encouraging to anyone who reads it - that the power
to give the body what it needs to sustain and build health is within our
Shaklee grasp.

Powerful
Business for Women
According to Robert Kiyosaki, Business for the 21st century, “Network
Marketing is a powerful business for women.
This may be due in part because it is uniquely compatible with the demands
of a family.”
Mr. Kiyosaki also says that the U.S. statistics about women are startling. Here are two he stated: “47% of women over age
50 are single, and are financially responsible for themselves. Women’s retirement income is less than that of
men because as the primary caretaker for the home, a woman is away from the work
force an average of 14.7 years, as compared to 1.6 years for men. Add this fact to the lower salaries women still
receive, and you have retirement benefits that are only about one--‐quarter those
of men. (National Center for Women And RetirementResearch)
I am happy to have Shaklee
as mine and my husband's safety net. Because
Network Marketing issuch a powerful business for women it is important to align
yourself with a company with a proven strong and stable track record to invest your
>me and future into. As America’s number
one natural nutrition company, Shaklee has paid more than $5 billion in commissions
all the while helping people like yours and mine live healthier, richer and happier
lives. I Love partnering with Shaklee for
these very reasons plus instead of making cuts in this economy, they are adding
to the benefits package. AND I get
to work from home in several expanding markets!

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
In
Remission!
I was
diagnosed at age 16 with eczema, and at age 20 with lactose in-tolerance,
spastic colon, irritable bowel syndrome, anemia, menstrual problems. After having 3 children, I started adding to
my list of health issues including cervical dysplasia, fibroid tumors, chronic
sinus infections, neck problems, 2 lower herniated discs – causing foot
problems, nerve damage, torn rotator cuff, heart symptoms, rosacea, acid reflux
and high blood pressure.
My life
was a full fast paced one but the side effects from medications slowed me down,
masked the symptoms, and depleted me of vitamins and minerals. In 2003, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid
Arthritis and later Celiac disease.
With the
guidance of my Shaklee distributor and a Nutritional Consultant, I chose to
make dietary changes and committed to a Shaklee
nutritional program. Within 4
months, I was off all my meds including my high blood pressure medicine and all
the pain medications, even NSAID’S. Instead
I used the Shaklee
Pain Relief and Joint
Health Complex to manage pain.
I have had
no back surgery, no hysterectomy, my heart is healthy, my allergies are under control
and my Rheumatoid Arthritis has been in remission for 6 years!
I feel
better than I did 25 years ago. For the past 5 years, I have only visited my
Doctor for the annual wellness check up. I thank God for Shaklee and the people
He used to guide me in restoring my health.
Because of my health improvement, it is my mission to help others
prevent and overcome disease which has led me to have my own Shaklee business (something
I never dreamed I would do) and teach others to build businesses too. I love
sharing the gift of Shaklee.

Ginger
Cookies ...unique, delicious, healthy!
Ingredients
• 2 cups whole wheat
pastry flour or spelt flour
• 1. Tbsp. ground ginger
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• . tsp. fine sea salt
• 8 Tbsp. (1 stick)
unsalted butter, cut into small
cubes
• ⅔ cup granulated sugar
• . cup unsulphured
molasses
• 2 Tbsp. finely grated
fresh ginger
• 1 egg
• 1 cup dried
apricots,
finely
chopped
• . cup
bittersweet
chocolate,
preferably 70
percent cacao, finely chopped
• 1 cup raw or turbinado
sugar
• Powdered sugar for
dusting (optional)
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, ground ginger, baking soda,
and salt; set aside.
Makes 8 dozen small (or 4 dozen large) cookies
Heat butter in a small pot over medium--‐low heat until just melted,
about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and
stir in granulated sugar, molasses, and fresh ginger. Set aside until mixture is just warm and then
whisk in egg. Add butter--‐molasses mixture
and apricots to reserved flour mixture, stir until just barely combined, and then
fold in chocolate. Cover and chill until
firm, about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350°. Line 2
large baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside. Place raw sugar in a small bowl. To form each cookie, shape ½ Tbsp. dough into
a ball, and then roll in raw sugar to coat.
Transfer to prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies about 2 apart. Bake until just cracked on top, 8 to 10 minutes. (To make larger cookies, use 1 Tbsp. dough for
each ball and bake 10 to 12 minutes.) Set
aside to cool, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Bake it better!
Roll these cookies in raw sugar (often called turbinado) for a sparkly,
crunchy finish, or in powdered sugar for a softly sweet bite.
Alzheimer’s
Symptoms Greatly Reduced
A woman shared with Debbie Garrison an amazing story about her mom
who had been diagnosed with Alzhiemer’s
5 years previous. She and her
sisters were taking care of her at home, and hated the results of the drugs, so
they discontinued them. Their Mom had
not dressed herself in two years, had to be fed all her meals and recognized
very few family members. She had little
or no interest in anyone or anything and rarely spoke. Then the girls started their mother on Shaklee
Vivix. One day during the second
month of taking Vivix,
their Mom began to talk, and one of the first things she said was “I want to go
to the kitchen and fix myself a peanut butter sandwich.” This, from a lady who had not fixed a meal in
years! After 3 months on Vivix,
their Mom was recognizing most of her guests, was feeding herself, and enjoying
her company.
Vivix
contains 15 polyphenols and over 60,000 antioxidants, with RESVERATROL being one
of the primary ingredients. Dr. David Sinclair’s
research proved that this substance repairs and protects DNA at the cellular level. That is the only possible explanation for this
wonderful health testimony.
