For anyone who likes Cream of Wheat but is unsure of how healthy it is
here’s an option. All you need is a
grinder that can grind down to something about as fine as cream of wheat. With that you can grind brown rice, your own
wheat and even black beans to about the same consistency of the cream of wheat
that comes in the box. It is then
available to use. In this form rice and
black beans will cook in about 5 minutes instead of 45 minutes or longer. It cooks to something like the cereal.
1 part ground wheat or which ever you are using to 3-4 parts water
depending on the desired thickness.
Bring the water to a boil
Add the ground stuff and appropriate seasonings
Then stir frequently for about 2 minutes
It’s ready.
A half a cup of ground stuff makes about 2 servings.
