Funerals and Robbers

An associate of mine just had her house robbed while she was attending a funeral for her sister, as if she did not have enough to deal with as it is.  There are lots of good people in this world but obviously there are some not so good ones too.  Please feel free to pass this warning on to all your friends and relatives.  There are predatory thieves out there who prey on those who are grieving over the loss of a loved one.  They read the obituaries looking for "opportunities."  The best way to protect yourselves from these types is to have a house sitter.  Find someone you can trust stay at the house.  This person can not only prevent a robbery but they can also give directions to the funeral.  Offer to video the funeral for them if he/she is someone who knew the deceased.  It's really sad that we have to worry about things like that but that's the way things are.
